The Dana Gaynor Band
The Dana Gaynor Band (DGB) is an award winning band from the Lehigh Valley, PA. USA, lead by internationally respected female lead/slide guitarist, singer/songwriter, producer: Dana Gaynor; and touring/session player Tony Mancino.
The DGB includes a family of nationally recognized session and touring players who sign on for gigs depending on availability. The resulting combinations produce joyful, spontaneous, high energy jam oriented concerts. On any given night you might see any of the following and the list is expanding each day; Dan Dechellis (kybds), Scott Ward (vocals and Drums), Josh Klein (gtr), Tony Mancino (bass and Vocals). Each of the members has gigged extensively with many well-known international recording acts including former members of the Grateful Dead, New Riders of the Purple Sage and Quicksilver Messenger Service; Dan Hicks, the Smithereens, the Classics Four, Tommy Castro, Thomas Dolby, Carlos Santana and many others. Their sound is eclectic with influences from blues, rock, jazz, fusion, funk, rockabilly and country.
The Dana Gaynor band won the outstanding Jam Band award from the Lehigh Valley Music Awards 2014 - 2017. Dana Gaynor received an outstanding artist award from the Lehigh Valley Soul Music Association in 2014 and was nominated for the 2017 NJ Blues Hall of fame; Reviews are consistently excellent including: (Steel Notes Jan. and February 2016, Fireworks #75, Blues Matters # 90, The Rocker UK 1/14/16, Nor’Easter February, 2016, That Music Mag Jan 18, 2016, PA Musician Magazine (March 2016).
Studio credits include: K&K studios, RCA Studios, Ultra-Sonic Studios, Kingdom Studios, Tewksberry Studios, The Record Plant, Rainbow Studios, Sound Doctor Studios, Star City Recording. Producers worked with include: Richie Moore (Record Plant), Robert Mersey (Jackie Wilson), K&K productions, Jeff Glixman (Kansas, Eric Clapton and many others), and Don Cassales (The Rascals), Mark Stone (Warner World Management).
Dana has appeared on the same bill as The Allman Brothers, Average White Band, Kingfish, Link Ray, Commander Cody and the lost planet airmen; Norton Buffalo, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, Dr. John, Roy Rogers, Vassar Clements, Link Wray, Bad Finger, The Dinosaurs, Terry and the Pirates; Poppa Chubby, Debbie Davies, Bobby Messano, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and many, many others.
As a headliner DGB plays festivals including: Jamageddon Music Festival, Long Branch Jazz and Blues Festival, Bourbon St. Blues Festival, NTI Stage, Mtn. Sky Blues and Bluegrass Festival, Riverside Music Festival, Festival in the Borough, Das Awkscht Fescht; county fairs, large and medium size venues including: The Stone Pony, The Stanhope House, Roxy and Dukes, the PNC Plaza, The Gin Mill; as wells as local and regional fairs and a variety of out door events in the summer season.
The DGB is currently touring in support of their current CD on Euphoric Rebel Records; A Storm's a comin. The CD was released on 1/6/2018 and is available internationally through a variety of online distributors including Itunes. The band is currently #3 in the world in the Jam category on both Reverbnation.com. The Dana Gaynor Band is moving into new territories, playing choice venues and festivals in America. DGB is booking for 2018 at this time.
