During the 90's I took a break from music and whatever side things I was into to try to balance out my life and make some major changes in it.  During that time I went back to school and got a Ph.D. in transpersonal psychology.  I did some very cool research and worked with some of the leaders in the field for about 10 years before moving on. These days I have the luxury of spending most of my time as a professional musician though I still teach the occasional grad course in personality theory and maintain a small private practice.  Below you'll find some of my research, ideas and projects.

  • Changes In Cognitive Structure Associated With Experiences Of Spiritual Transformation: This is my research study and Ph.D. dissertation exploring the ways in which thought, feeling, behavior and expectation change in association with experiences of spiritual transformation.  The transformative experiences of twenty five individuals from various locations around the U.S. and abroad are considered in depth.

  • Reality 101: (excerpt) A complete course, Reality 101 explores the nature of existence.  The subject matter identifies a common process underlying this nature using physics, chaos theory, philosophy, psychology and a variety of the world's great spiritual traditions.  It then develops a model of existence comprised of a single complex integrative process co-defining reality and consciousness.   References and focus questions appear at the end of each chapter.

  •  Fractal Model Of Existence:   This overview outlines and diagrams the Reality 101 model.  In a suprauniversal void, a volitional energetic field/state emerges.  Within this active field/state, reality self-organizes as a holarchy of increasingly complex thresholds of interrelationship ultimately producing individual consciousness.  The latter too, operationally speaking, may be considered a volitional energetic field/state within which a  holarchy of increasingly complex interrelationships self-organizes.   Because reality and individual consciousness represent self-similar aspects of a self-directed process at different orders of magnitude, they suggest that existence is a complex dynamical system with both holarchic and fractal qualities.    In this light, psychospiritual developmental emerges as an increasing awareness of the fractal, ultimately relating all aspects of existence directly to a common process and source thereby enabling the experience of both.  It is literally a fractal awakening.

  • The Journal of psychospiritual transformation:  Here are the four issues of the professional journal I published and contributed to in the early days of the 21st century.
